Gahanna-Jefferson Public School District

This project started as a challenge and ended up being one of our biggest successes.  The challenge was to take our custom content management system and extend it so that 900 users could edit a few pages to all pages (and everything in between).  In addition, the district needed a number of custom software modules to allow them to easily manage their lunch menus, news and alerts, event calendar, and much more.  Integrating content from a medium sized school district and 12 schools resulted in a total web site size of over 2300 pages.

"They clapped when they saw what it could do!"  said the technology director for the district, Randy Allen, after he demonstrated the new system to the school principals and administrators.

Considered such an achievement for a school district, SchoolNet asked Mr. Allen to present details of the project at the annual convention in 2005.  Response has been so positive that AFS Web has refined the technology even further which has led to a new product called SchoolSites.com - visit to learn more.

Design: Updating this site's look and feel without compromising school identity.  We met the challenge.  <go>

Bus Routes: Moving from a paper-based map to an interactive online map - parents now have an easy way to learn about school boundaries and bus times. <go>

CMS: Need a way for hundreds (or thousands) of users to manage your site?  Ours is built to handle it. <go>
